I want to offer you help in whatever way works best for you.

Hello! I am Shanna Tipton-Green, MS, LPC, and I hold a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Addictions, and Social Work. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado through the Department of Regulatory Agencies. I work with all types of issues: anxiety, adjustment issues, grief, depression, issues of focus, stress, identity, sexuality. I have extensive training in the field of developmental trauma. The thing that I have found that helps people most is for me to provide a safe space where a person feels seen and heard.

NEUROFEEDBACK

Neurofeedback is a sophisticated form of EEG biofeedback that actually trains the brain to normalize brainwaves and make them flexible and adaptable to the task at hand. There are no lasting negative side effects due to the plasticity of the brain. 

 

Neurofeedback is a mirror for what the brain is doing so that it may correct itself.  Using sophisticated software, sensors placed on certain sites on the head, and either a game or movie, the client trains (or teaches) their brain to communicate more effectively.

 

Neurofeedback is essentially learning to sync out-of-sync brainwave patterns which alleviates anxiety, panic, depression, focus, and many more symptoms.

EFT - EMOTIONAL
FREEDOM TECHNIQUE

Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as tapping or psychological acupressure involves tapping specific points on the body, primarily on the head and the face, in a particular sequence. While doing this, the person focuses on the issue that they wish to treat.

 

According to EFT International, the technique can be helpful for people with: anxiety, depression, chronic pain, stress, etc.

MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness therapy/training is the practice of maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment, through a gentle, nurturing lens. … When we practice mindfulness, our thoughts tune into what we’re sensing in the present moment rather than rehashing the past or imagining the future.  

I provide supervision for Licensed Professional Counselor Candidates in the state of Colorado.

COUNSELING

Counseling  – using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Dialectical Behavior Therapy, curiosity, non-judgment, active listening, and presence.

RESTORATIVE WORK, BODY WORK, & RESOURCING

Restorative work, body work and resourcing – using trauma informed yoga, thymus thump, grounding, and discovering what is regulating for the individual client – such as music, humming, singing/chanting, coloring, rocking, walking, etc.
